Shorefront Self-Catering Holiday Park with Views to Ben Nevis

Self-Catering Options

Shieling Holidays Mull offers three types of self-catering accommodations: the Camping Shieling Tent (a self-contained tent with en-suite facilities and a basic camping kitchen), the Glamping Chalets (fully insulated with double and twin bedrooms plus two single sofa beds, gas central heating, digital television, and free WiFi), and two cottages-Nevis Cottage (sleeps 4 with a double bed and double sofa bed) and Cruachan Cottage (sleeps 4 with a double bedroom and a twin bedroom). The Glamping Chalets have panoramic sea views toward Oban, the Sound of Mull, and Ben Nevis on clear days. All units include bedding and towels except the Shieling Tent, which provides bedding only.

On-Site Facilities

The site has hot showers, dish-washing areas with plenty of hot water, and unique drying tents for wet clothing. A common room with free WiFi and a Games Shieling with a pool table and table tennis are available for all guests. A designated campfire area, swing, and sandpit are located on the landward side of the cottages, and a laundrette (cold wash only) with token-operated machines is at reception.

Location & Activities

The holiday park sits on a beautiful shore front with uninterrupted views up the Sound of Mull and down Loch Linnhe to Ben Nevis. It is centrally located in Craignure, a short stroll from the ferry terminal, pub, shop, cafes, and buses to Tobermory and Fionnphort (for ferries to Iona and Staffa). Nearby attractions include Duart Castle, the Isle of Mull Hotel & Swimming Pool, a 9-hole golf course, and pony trekking; forestry tracks and coastline walks start from the site.

Family & Pets

Cots and high chairs can be requested free of charge (if available) for the Shieling Tent and Nevis Cottage. The site has a swing and sandpit for children. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, with a charge of £1.50 per night for campers and £2.50 per night per dog in cottages (max 2 dogs); dogs must be kept on lead on site but can be walked off lead along the enchanting coastline or local forestry walks.

Local Food & Drink

Guests can walk to the Craignure Inn for pub meals, as well as several cafes and a shop. Nearby food vendors include the Fishnish Food Bar (breakfast, lunches, home baking), Taste of Mull food van (fish and chips, burgers, scampi), and Inverlussa Mussels (fresh mussels from an honesty box, Easter to October). The Little Bespoke Bakery in Salen offers bakes, bites, and brews, and the Isle of Mull Cheese farm in Tobermory has a shop and café at the Glass Barn.
